The promotion and dissemination of agricultural technologies as a pathway out of income inequality in rural Ghana have received widespread support. WebUsing household survey data and location information on oilfields, this paper examines the short-term welfare impacts of Ghana’s offshore oil discovery and production. We find that the oil discovery and production increased real income and employment by 4 percent and 4.5 percent, respectively.
